Jose Mourinho makes two changes to the side which drew against Swansea last weekend, with Asmir Begovic making his first start for the club, replacing the suspended Thibaut Courtois, and Ramires coming in for the injured Oscar.
The back four remains unchanged, Gary Cahill partnering John Terry centrally, while Ramires is expected to sit alongside Nemanja Matic in midfield, with Cesc Fabregas, who makes his 50th Chelsea appearance, playing in a more advanced role.
Diego Costa leads the line for the Blues.
Jamal Blackman starts on the bench as back-up goalkeeper, along with fellow youngster Ruben Loftus Cheek. Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy are also among the substitutes.
Manchester City, meanwhile, make just one change to the side which beat West Bromwich Albion in their opening game, with Sergio Aguero starting at the expense of Wilfried Bony.
